2 Eagle buttons & a fired 3 ringer 7 Years, 8 Months ago
Found these on Saturday with the new E-trac. I don't know much about relics like these so any help identifying them would be appreciated. I think the bullet is a 3 ringer that's been fired. As far as the buttons go I think the one on the left is a general service button and I'm not sure about the one on the right. It has a "C" on the shield, so I'm not sure if that means anything. Anyone know about these??? They aren't in the best of shape, but cool finds still.

Left side in a general service Union army button, the right side button with the c is a general service CALVARY button the bullet looks to be a fired williams cleaner it would have had a zinc insert in the base to remove build up from the barrel when fired

WTG nice digs was this from a feild or park or ??
Details man, details
You may be on to something real good

I found these in the same field that I found an 1856 seated liberty half dollar in. Supposedly this field had a small army outpost that was right near an old mail station. The field has given up buttons to other hunters and many coins of various types. Saturday it was my turn to find a few relics. I don't know much about this stuff so I appreciate your help identifying them! :)

It's funny...I was hunting in a coins pattern when I found those, but now that I know that stuff is there, I think I will try the relic mode. I know I'll be digging a lot of square nails though...There's plenty of those littered in the field. Guess I could always disc. them out though and pull the other signals. I'll try it out this weekend and see what happens.

Try to use minimal disc. more depth will be attained that way-
how ever if the iron is to heavily infested its better for me to go back to a general program. Its better for my sanity.

.... :)

The relics mode on the Etrac doesn't disc out much at all. So that's probably how I'll hunt. Like I said, the site is littered with square nails, so I may make the machine auto reject that particular signal, but still accept everything else. I'm itching to get back there. The weekend won't get here soon enough. :)
